Dr. Donald H. Jenkins is a renowned trauma surgeon lauded for his contributions to military health and academic leadership. He serves as a Professor and Vice Chair for Quality in the Department of Surgery and holds the Betty and Bob Kelso Distinguished Chair in Burn and Trauma Surgery. Dr. Jenkins earned a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Scranton and an MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, completing his surgical training and a trauma fellowship at prestigious institutions.
During his U.S. Air Force service from 1984 to 2008, Dr. Jenkins was Trauma Medical Director at Wilford Hall’s Level I trauma center. He spearheaded the Joint Trauma System post-9/11, pivotal in saving numerous lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. After military service, he led the Mayo Clinic's trauma division, elevating the Minnesota Trauma System globally. He has held leadership roles, authored over 275 publications, and received the American Legion Distinguished Service Medal. Dr. Wilson joined as advisor to Renovo Concepts in 2026.
